As some of you may be aware, a collision occurred recently in Pla-Vada. Fortunately, no one was hurt. The collision resulted from a speeding vehicle. Speeding is an ongoing concern in Pla-Vada, and this incident serves to highlight the danger of driving beyond the speed limit, particularly in Winter.
The posted speed limit in Pla-Vada is 15 mph. It is the same throughout the development. Signs are posted and members, and their guests, are expected to adhere to the 15-mph limit. In addition, the speed limit is stated in the general rules and, as such, is subject to the Fine Policy if not observed.
As defined in the Fine Policy the first speeding violation for a member, or a member’s guest, will result in a letter reminding them of both the speed limit and the potential fine. The second violation will result in a fine of $100. Each subsequent violation will result in a fine of $150.
Members who rent their property, either short or long-term, should note that all violations and/or fines are ultimately the responsibility of the member. If a member is renting short-term and multiple renters violate the 15-mph limit, the fines will accrue. For those who rent, please make it clear to your renters that the speed limit is 15 mph.
Please watch your speed at all times. If you are aware of someone who is speeding please make Brian and his crew aware. As always, the board is making every effort to raise awareness among members about the speeding problem and to make sure that speed limits are posted clearly and everywhere.
