2026 Board of Directors Election: Pre-Ballot Notice

  • Election Date: June 20, 2026
  • Ballot Submission Deadline: June 17, 2026
  • Ballot Counting Meeting: June 20, 2026 at 9:00 AM via Zoom

CANDIDATES

The following candidates will appear on the ballot:

VOTING INSTRUCTIONS
 -- Paper Ballots Only
  • Return completed ballots via mail to: Petra Krantz, Inspector of Elections, PO Box 681, Soda Springs, CA 95728
  • Must be received by June 17, 2026 at 4:00 PM
  • Envelopes must include: Member name, property address, and signature (per Civil Code §5115(b))

QUORUM NOTICE
 (Civil Code §5115(b)):
The current quorum requirement is 33.3%. If quorum is not met, a reconvened meeting will be held at 20 least days after the scheduled election with reduced quorum of 20%.

VOTER LIST VERIFICATION

You may verify the accuracy of your voter list information. To do so, contact the Inspector of Elections, Petra Krantz, at [email protected]. Members must report errors in voter lists to the Inspector of Elections by May 6, 2026 (at least 30 days before voting deadline per Civil Code §5105(a)(7)).

: This notice complies with California Civil Code §5105 and §5115, SB 323 (2020), and the Pla-Vada Community Association Election Policy (12/30/2020).

Nominations Open for 2026 Election of Directors

NOTICE OF NOMINATION PROCEDURES AND DEADLINE
Dear Homeowner,
Pla-Vada Community Association will hold its Annual Meeting of Members on June 20, 2026. At this meeting, the membership will elect three (3) Directors to the Board for two-year terms.
If you are interested in serving our community, we invite you to review the following procedures and submit your nomination by the deadline below.
1. Candidate Eligibility
To run for a seat on the Board, a candidate must meet the following requirements:
  • Membership: You must be a Member of the Association at the time of nomination.
  • Assessment Status: You must be current in the payment of regular and special assessments. (Note: Exceptions apply if you have a paid-under-protest status or an approved payment plan).
  • Joint Ownership: If a property is owned by multiple people, only one owner may serve on the Board at any given time.
  • Fidelity Bond Coverage: Candidates must not have a criminal conviction that would prevent the Association from maintaining required insurance (fidelity bond coverage).
2. How to Nominate Yourself
In accordance with our Election Policy, nominations are made through a self-nomination process:
  • Written Notice: Any Member may nominate themselves by submitting a written notice to the Association by email to [email protected] or by mail to Pla-Vada Community Association, P.O. Box 94, Norden, CA 95724.
  • Candidate Profile: You may submit a one-page "Candidate Profile" (8.5" x 11") to introduce yourself to the membership. This statement will be included in the official election mailing.
  • No Floor Nominations: Please be aware that nominations will not be accepted from the floor during the meeting, and write-in candidates are not permitted.
All written self-nominations must be received by the Board of Directors on or before APRIL 1, 2026. Candidate Profiles must be received by May 1, 2026.
3. Important Dates
  • April 1: Nomination deadline.
  • May 17:  Ballots and election materials mailed to Members.
  • June 17: Deadline for ballots to be received.
  • June 20: Annual Meeting of the Members, including ballot count.

2025 Reconvened Annual Meeting Notice

Pla-Vada Community Association did not reach the 33.3% quorum needed to have the annual meeting and proceed with the election on June 21, 2025. As such, the meeting was adjourned until Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 6 p.m. At this time, 20% of members present by ballot will satisfy the quorum requirements and ballots will be counted if a quorum is reached. The meeting will take place via Zoom teleconference. Meeting links will be sent out prior to the meeting via email or may be requested from the PVCA office.
